This full day private tour brings you two great highlights of the Northwest Washington: the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and a hike through Deception Pass, Washington's most popular state park.  Our tour includes a morning at the world famous Tulip Festival, a stop in gorgeous seaside town of La Conner for lunch, and an afternoon hike through dramatic Deception Pass State Park.  An optional alternative to lunch of one of La Conner’s many restaurants is a beach picnic at Deception Pass. With advance reservation, we can provide a gourmet catered lunch for your group to enjoy at Deception Pass along with hot and cold beverages.

Throughout the month of April, the Skagit Valley celebrates the coming of spring with the annual Tulip Festival.  Deception Pass is situated between Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands, boasts stunning seaside views, dense old growth forests hugged up against cliffs plunging into the water below and mesmerizing tides that flow and churn like a river between the islands. After our hike, we’ll finish off this unforgettable day with a visit to one of the Skagit Valley’s award-winning wineries for a full complimentary tasting flight.

Explore the seaside town of La Conner

Head into the beautiful seaside town of La Conner or have a catered delicious picnic lunch in the state park by the beach. In La Conner, there are many options for lunch and many of the town’s cafes are situated along the waterfront or nestled in among historic buildings dating back to the late 19th century. If you’d rather opt for a picnic lunch in Deception Pass state park, be sure to let us know when you make your booking.

Guided Hike at Deception Pass State Park

The hike is suitable for people of all ages and follows a rolling trail along the beach and through old growth forests. There are many beautiful areas of the state park that we can marvel at that do not require a hike.

Wine Tasting

After we’re done viewing the hike at Deception Pass, we’ll stop by a local winery where adults will enjoy a complimentary wine tasting flight—the perfect way to relax at the end of a wonderful day!

SEE and EXPLORE More of the Skagit Valley

While we’re not the only tour operator to offer a “tulip tour,” we are the only tour company to offer such a full day and provide an all inclusive experience. The Skagit Valley has so much to offer. We love sharing some of the area’s other spectacular scenery with our guests. Deception Pass is so close to the tulip festival yet too few people make a point of visiting both of these spots on the same day! We look forward to sharing it with you!

North to the Skagit Valley from Seattle

This full day private tour to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and stunning Deception Pass State Park will begin when your guide and driver picks you up at any location of your choice in the greater Seattle area in our comfortable high-roof, extended length van.  As we drive north and gradually depart the city, you'll get your first glimpses of the snow capped North Cascade mountains and Mt. Baker on clear days.  After about an hour on the highway, we'll make our way along the Skagit Valley's back roads and get our first glimpses of fields of daffodils and tulips stretching before us.

Full Morning Tulip Viewing

Your first stop of the day will be at either Roozengaarde or Tulip Town, the two largest tulip farms in the Skagit Valley with extensive display gardens with nearly 100 varieties of tulips and daffodils on display.  Both of these gardens have row upon row of brilliantly colored tulips stretching to the horizon.  Even on busy days, your group will go straight in with our “skip-the-line” access. We will spend approximately 2 hours at the first display garden of the day before proceeding on to the historic seaside village of La Conner.

La Conner & Lunch Stop

You will have about 90 minutes to explore beautiful seaside La Conner, have lunch at one of the village's many restaurants, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at one the many bakeries and shops that line the waterfront. Alternatively, we can provide a gourmet picnic box lunch for your group including a green salad, entree, fresh vegetables, a dessert and a hot and cold beverages. For groups who would like a picnic, we’ll head to Deception Pass after a 30-minute stop to explore La Conner. We’ll enjoy our picnic lunch by the ocean before beginning our hike.

Deception Pass Hike

At Deception Pass, we will stop at multiple points to admire the stunning seaside views.  When the group is ready, we'll start our hike along the shoreline, the trail transitioning between the groves of Douglas Fir and Pacific Madrone and cliffs that plunge to the beach and ocean below.  At openings with views to the ocean, keep your eyes out for diving ducks, cranes, and harbor seals hunting along the shoreline.  As you approach the historic Deception Pass Bridge, if our timing is right, you'll watch the churning whirlpools and standing waves created by the dramatic tidal exchanges.  The trail meanders and is a mix of uphill and downhill terrain.  On average, we'll hike about 3 miles along rolling terrain and the beaches.  The actual distance we cover will depend on the group's energy and speed.

Wine Tasting

Last, we'll stop at a local winery where we'll treat you to a complimentary wine tasting flight. On sunny days, we'll sit outside looking across the fields toward the mountains in the distance, enjoying wine and snacks.

Return to Seattle After an Amazing Tour

After getting beautiful pictures throughout the hike and along the shoreline, we'll head back to van for the 90-minute drive back to Seattle where your guide will drop you back at your location of choice in Seattle. Our arrival will be at approximately 5:30pm, depending on traffic.
