Our journey will begin with leaving the city and traveling about 30 minutes outside Seattle to a pristine forest. We will begin by walking purposefully through the forest, stopping frequently to notice the scent and texture of leaves, sense the touch of the breeze on our skin, admire flowers and pause to notice the scent of the rich soil and decay happening beneath our feet. This walk is a path to separate ourselves, albeit temporarily, from the noise and distraction of the urban world. Your guide will provide instructions on how to walk through this environment with purpose and on how how to open your senses. Once we arrive at a clearing in the forest, we wil begin 75 minutes of guided meditation practice, including the 3 key phases of meditation: Dharana-Dhyana-Samadhi.
When selecting a spot to meditate in the forest, we will consider light intensity, what the five senses are likely to pick up in our surrounding environment, as well as personal preferences, among other factors. We will choose a comfortable meditative posture (posture aids will be provided if needed), adjust our attire (based on warm or cool weather) so we can allow ourselves to relax every part of the body. As we settle in, start by listening to nature all around us, breathing in the moment and finding yourself. After we conclude, we will walk another 30 minutes out of the forest and enjoy a blend of freshly brewed artisan teas and light vegan refreshments before we head back to Seattle.

Meijin is a yoga and meditation practitioner of 14 years, experienced in Flow Yoga, Ashtanga, and Hatha Yoga. Meijin was taught the techniques of Pranayama breathing meditation by the founder of Pranayama, Shri O.P. Tiwariji. Meijin was the first person from China to receive a meditation instructor certification from the Yogaville Ashram in Virginia. As a former freediving national record holder, Meijin used her knowledge of breathing and deep relaxation to dive to greater depths on a single breath. She looks forward to leading more people through breathing and meditative practice in Washington’s forests with fresh air, far from urban distractions.

Downtown Seattle pick-ups at hotels or the cruise terminal will begin at about 7:30am. Please see our pick-up area in the map below. If you're not staying within this area, please meet us at the Sheraton Seattle (1400 6th Ave.)
We will depart the the forest area at about 11am and will begin drop-off service in downtown Seattle at approximately 11:30am, depending on traffic
